Situation was different in 2001, number of fighter jets needed by Air Force changes from time to time: Sitharaman

The number of fighter jets required by the Air Force changes from time to time, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Saturday, adding the situation was different in 2001 when India decided to purchase 126 aircraft. The defence minister's response came while she was answering questions after delivering a lecture on 'India's National Security and Importance of Rafale Deal' in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
